Gulibagh is both a town as well as a Union Council in the Swat Valley. As an administrative unit in Pakistan, it is recognised as a Union council but to be more precise it is a town in Swat District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
Literal meaning of Gulibagh in pashto language is a "garden of flowers”.
District Swat has 7 Tehsils i.e. Khwazakhela, Charbagh, Kabal, Barikot, Babuzai, and Bahrain. Each Tehsil comprises certain numbers of union councils. There are 65 union councils in district Swat, 56 rural and 09 urban. Gulibagh is one of these union councils.
As an administrative unit, Union council Gulibagh includes small villages i.e. Alabad, Dakorak, Landake, Gulibagh (the town), Waliabad, Roria & alamganj.
While if considered as a town, Gulibagh has few Mohallas i.e. Rorya, Waliabad, Bodababa, Spina Khawra, Shindand, Keelay and Maira. Most of the Town population is in the keelay Mohallah.
Cadet college swat, a premier institute in swat is also located in the waliabad mohallah of Town Gulibagh. While the university of Swat is in "Alabad" Part of Union Council Gulibagh
