Giannini & Hilgart

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some of Giannini and Hilgart's window designs

Giannini and Hilgart is a studio established in 1899 which manufactured stained glass windows.[1] It was formed by Orlando Giannini, a Swiss-Italian from Ohio, and Frederick Hilgart, born in Germany.[2][3]

The studio created and designed colorful glass windows for businesses, homes, churches,[4][5][6] fireplaces,[7] and mantels. Frank Lloyd Wright[8] worked with Giannini and Hilgart to produce his prairie-style windows. George Maher was another client of Giannini and Hilgart.[2] The studio also manufactured pottery.[9] The original firm was in the Chicago Loop area.[10]
