Summary
Description |
The photograph shows a 1986/87 V8 Vantage Zagato FHC. It is one of the fifty limited edition fixed head coupes that were built, of which 35 were originally built in right-hand drive form & 15 in left-hand drive form. A few cars were fitted with automatic transmission. This particular vehicle is Vehicle No 32, a right-hand drive 5 speed manual example specially finished in Salisbury Blue (AML Factory colour; it is listed as having been painted "Innocenti Cobalto Blue Metallic 78 Verde" at the Aston Martin Zagato registry) as opposed to one of the eight standard colours offered by Zagato. (The eight standard Zagato colours offered were Javelin Grey, Hunter Green, Valiant Blue, Lightning Silver, Vulcan Black, Gladiator Red, Swift Azure & Fury Yellow). The interior is also executed in special order Magnolia Connolly leather as opposed to those offered by the Zagato factory. Aston Martin Owners Club records show that this particular Zagato is acknowledged as being possibly the finest of the fifty built, having received five AMOC Concours d'Elegance awards including '1st in Class' in the Elite Class.
It is also featured in numerous books including 'The Fastest Cars from around the World'. |
