Description The Bandai WonderSwan, a handheld gaming console released in 1999. This is the first model of the Japan-only WonderSwan series and features a monochrome screen. The system was developed by KOTO, a design company founded by Gunpei Yokoi after he left Nintendo in 1996. The system did moderately well in Japan thanks to some of its third-party support from developers like Square and Capcom. The system was followed up by the WonderSwan Color, released in 2000.
