Definition, concepts

Statistical sources are compiled by Eurostat : quarterly en:Labour Force Survey (EU-LFS), monthly registered unemployment in member states or national unemployment rates in Member States - computation on monthly basis and seasonal adjustment realized by Eurostat to provide "hamonized data" ; the correlation between this monthly indicator and the unemployment rate, which conform to ILO standards and which is measured in the quarterly survey (EU-LFS), may vary along time and across countries.

Statistical representation : intervals range from 0 to 20% by two points steps ; fixed intervals have been preferred to facilitate comparisons along time ; each country is identified by its ISO-3116-1-ALPHA2 code which may be found in a separate layer for easy internationalization.
