File:Ultra slow-motion video of glass tea cup smashed on concrete floor.webm

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Original file(WebM audio/video file, VP9, length 40 s, 1,920 × 1,080 pixels, 687 kbps overall, file size: 3.27 MB)

Summary

Description
A glass tea cup intentionally smashed on a concrete floor, while filming it with the built-in slow motion video function of an iPhone. The resulting video was then further slowed down using the VLC video software, so that this file is running with a speed about 20 times lower than normal (factor 0.05). This video has no sound, as it would have an extremely low frequency. The video in real-time with sound can be seen here: File:Glass tea cup smashes on concrete floor - close-up video.webm, see also below.

At a time of 6 to 7 seconds from start of this video, a larger shard is flying directly towards the recording iPhone and smashes on it, leading to a visible shaking of the iPhone camera and a subtle change of perspective. In the real-time version, this shows as a seemingly strange and sudden change of viewing angle (in up-down direction) during the video directly connected to the smash - and about 1.5 sec (in the real-time video) after this, the iPhone returns to its original position, leading to a second slight shift of perspective. In the above slo-mo video, the 2nd moving of the iPhone occurs at about 35 sec.

A slightly faster slo-mo version of the video also includes the original sound / noise: Very slow motion video of glass tea cup smashed on concrete floor.webm.
