Description
The U.S. Navy hospital ship USS Refuge (AH-11) underway after departing Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Virginia (USA), 20 April 1944. The ship made its departure at Cape Henry and proceeded east across the Atlantic Ocean on its way to Algeria. When about 70 km off shore that afternoon, the ship was photographed probably from an airship belonging to Lighter-than Air Squadron (ZP-24) stationed at Naval Air Station Weeksville, North Carolina (USA).
