Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8)	Section. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the characters. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed at the beginning of a section discussing the work, to help the user quickly identify the characters and know they have found what they are looking for. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original work, namely the LD cover creator's ability to provide LD cover design services and in turn marketing anime to the public.
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1)	No free use image available. As these are fictional, copyrighted characters and a copyrighted publication, a freely-licensed alternative could not reasonably be obtained.
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3)	The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original video cover. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2)	The use of a medium resolution scan from LD-cover will not impact the commercial viability of it.
