Nederlands: Portretten van Thomas Hees, resident en commissaris der Staten Generaal bij de regeringen te Algiers, Tunis en Tripolis, bemiddelaar inzake de vrijkoop van slaven te Algiers in 1683 met zijn neven Jan en Andries Hees, en Thomas de zwarte bediende. Ten voeten uit zittend aan een tafel, een pijp in de linkerhand. Op tafel liggen een opengeslagen atlas, boeken, inktstel en een globe. Aan de achterwand hangen enkele geweren, zwaarden, jachthoorns, takken koraal en een wapen met de Hollandse Leeuw.
