Summary

Description

The 19th century headquarters of the General Post Office in St Martins-le-Grand in the City of London. Antique steel engraved print by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1793 to 1864) who was employed by Frederick Crace for a series of drawings of London. Many of the engravings include figures, carriages or boats . Originally produced for Shepherd's "Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century" (1826 to 1827).
