Taking of Laghouat, a sized canvas painted by Jean-Adolphe Beaucé. A fragment depicting the assault by one of the three created then regiments of the French zhouaves, incited personally by General Pélissier (exposed, in black); left of him is shown Major Morand (white clothed), commanding the troop.
