Summary

Description A U.S. Marine Corps Douglas TA-4F Skyhawk (BuNo 153508) of Headquarters and Maintenance Squadron 12 (H&MS-12) on the ground at Iwakuni, Japan. This aircraft was shot down by a 9K32 "Strela-2" missile (NATO reporting code: SA-7 Grail) 16 km south-east of Da Nang, Vietnam, on 26 May 1972 while strafing North Vietnamese tanks. Both crew ejected and were rescued.
