Summary

Description
St Michael's Street, looking east This was once a dog-leg of New Inn Hall Street before that was rerouted into George Street, and this section was named for St Michael's at the Northgate which stands at the far end where the tower is visible below the crane.

St Michael's Street follows the old city wall, parts of which are incorporated in its buildings. The oldest houses here date back as far as the C16 and others belong to succeeding centuries; on the opposite side is the Oxford Union.

The blue plaque on the left commemorates Felicia Skene 'prison reformer and friend to the poor'.
