File:Sir Nicholas Poyntz, by Hans Holbein the Younger.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Original file(960 × 1,500 pixels, file size: 290 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description
Portrait of Sir Nicholas Poyntz. Black and coloured chalks, pen and Indian ink on pink-primed paper, 28.4 × 18.3 cm, Royal Collection, Windsor Castle. The chalks are badly rubbed, and some of the penwork seems not to be Holbein's (Parker, p. 45).

Various pictures and miniatures based on the drawing have survived, none of them by Holbein himself (see "Other versions" below). From these the date of 1535 and the sitter's age of 25 are derived. Reference
