Description
Viscount Eiichi Shibusawa (1840–1931) holds 2 friendship dolls. Sidney Gulick (1860-1945) sent about 12,739 "blue-eyed dolls" from the United States to Japan in 1927 in hopes of promoting goodwill between Japan and the United States. In return, Eiichi Shibusawa sent 58 "return dolls" to the United States in the same year.
