Description
Español: El lienzo representa el momento en que las tropas españolas en Dinamarca a las órdenes del marqués de la Romana, Pedro Caro y Sureda, se disponían a embarcar hacia España. Se encontraban allí para proteger a Dinamarca, que era aliada de Napoleón, al tiempo que esperaban la orden para invadir Suecia, operación que nunca se llevó a cabo. Pero cuando el cuerpo expedicionario español, que estaba formado por unos 14.000 hombres, tuvo conocimiento del levantamiento del 2 de mayo contra las tropas napoleónicas que habían invadido España, intentaron huir de Dinamarca y lo consiguieron seis meses después aunque con la ayuda de la armada británica.
