File:Rhaetia and Prinz Oskar interned at Philadelphia.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rhaetia_and_Prinz_Oskar_interned_at_Philadelphia.jpg(716 × 505 pixels, file size: 151 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description
Two steamships of the Hamburg-America Line, SS Rhaetia (left) and SS Prinz Oskar, in internment at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States prior to America's entry into World War One. The photo may have been taken shortly before the United States broke diplomatic relations with Germany on 3 February 1917. While the caption in the source does not clearly identify which of the ships is which, Rhaetia can be identified by the high air vents on the foredeck and the more complex rigging assembly on the foremast.
