Acto estrictamente castrense se desarrolló en el Cuartel General del Ejército en San Borja


En ceremonia estrictamente castrense llevada cabo en el Cuartel General del Ejército (Pentagonito) fueron devueltos al Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia los restos de dos soldados bolivianos que pertenecieron al Regimiento Segundo de Infantería Sucre, que participó en la Batalla del Alto de la Alianza (mayo de 1880).

Los restos y pertenencias de los dos soldados bolivianos, un oficial y un subalterno depositados en féretros cubiertos por la bandera de su país, recibieron los honores correspondientes y fueron condecorados póstumamente con la “Medalla del Combatiente Mariscal Andrés A. Cáceres” en el Grado de Honor.

La imposición de la medalla póstuma estuvo a cargo del ministro de Defensa, del Perú, Jakke Valakivi y el Comandante General del Ejército del Perú, general Ronald Hurtado Jiménez..

A la ceremonia asistieron autoridades del Perú y Bolivia, entre ellos, el Presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Pedro Cateriano, el presidente del Congreso, Luis Iberico, así como los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, Defensa y de Culturas de Bolivia, David Choquehuanca, Reymi Ferrerira y Marko Machicao, respectivamente.
