Summary

Description
Proposed in 1963, this $15 million stadium would have been on the waterfront between Galer and Harrison and was meant to house professional baseball and football teams. If a way could be found to keep the playing field level, the idea of actually having the stadium float on Elliott Bay was considered. Fans would have been able to come to the facility via ferry, railroad, bus, seaplane, or a monorail extension. The City Council and Engineering Department rejected the proposal, leaving Seattle high and dry until the Kingdome was built. Document 7216, Published Document Collection, Seattle Municipal Archives
