Summary

Description
Two native women of Plover (Provideniya) Bay. The original identified them as Chukchi without any attempt to distinguish Chukchi from Yupik. Nelson's later book, the Eskimo about Behring Strait (1900) describes the inhabitants of Plover Bay, observed on this visit, as Eskimo (Yuit). Cropped slightly from original.
