American abstract artists who put name to an open letter to the president of The Metropolitan Museum of Art were rejecting the museum's exhibition American Painting Today - 1950 and boycotting the competition. |

This version is a copy donated to the Archives of American Art and forms part of the Hedda Sterne papers, 1944-1970. Archives of American Art states that copyright status is undetermined. |
