Description

Estampa de 1847. Titulada Monterey from Independence Hill, in the rear of the bichop’s palace. Litografía de F. Swinton, coloreada por G. & W. Edicott, Nueva York.

No sé por qué el obispado aparece sin cúpula. Ondea la bandera norteamericana después de la batalla de Monterrey en septiembre de 1846. Las tropas americanas permanecieron en territorio mexicano hasta 1848.

La imagen tiene Copyright por D.P. Whiting. Pero, según las leyes de USA éste expira a los 100 años y pasa a ser imagen del Dominio Público.
