Summary

Description
Portrait of Pyotr Ivanovich Melissino (Greek: Πέτρος Μελισσηνός, Petros Melissinos), (Russian: Пётр Мелиссино), (French: Pierre De Mellisino); (1726-1797) (?) Portrait was originally thought to represent Lieutenant-General of Artillery and the painting entered the collection of the gallery titled "Portrait of General Razumovsky." However, the inconsistency of his uniform, awards and small iconographic similarities with the family was forced to question the identification. The search led to the conclusion that the model likely represents Petr Ivanovich Melissino (1726-1797).
