Description
Eastward along Ohio State Route 119 from the unincorporated community of St. Rose in Marion Township, Mercer County, Ohio, United States. This is located near the heart of the region known as the "Land of the Cross-Tipped Churches", which features many large Roman Catholic churches in tiny crossroads communities within sight of each other. Taken in the shadow of St. Rose Church, it shows the tower of St. John the Baptist Church in Maria Stein, and the tower of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church can easily be seen from this location in the opposite direction. These churches and many others in the vicinity were listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a part of the Cross-Tipped Churches of Ohio Thematic Resources.
