Permission
(Reusing this file)
The book does not provide any copyright details for this photograph. However, a crop of this photograph (with Sir William Salmond air-brushed out) has been released under Crown Copyright in the Spirit of the Air publication (http://www.raf.mod.uk/downloads/RAFpublications/sota_vol1_no1_pt2.pdf). The copyright notice is available at the bottom of page 4 in the first part of the publication (http://www.raf.mod.uk/downloads/RAFpublications/sota_vol1_no1_pt1.pdf). It has therefore been inferred that the whole photograph is covered by Crown Copyright as one would expect for a British military portrait. As it is more than 50 years old, the photograph is now in the public domain.
