Army Lt. Gen. Stephen R. Lyons is promoted to the rank of general by Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, his wife, son, and daughter during a ceremony at Scott Air Force Base, Aug. 24, 2018. Lyons, who was promoted to the rank of general one hour prior to the ceremony, will relieve United States Air Force Gen. Darren W. McDew, who is scheduled to retire later in the day here.
