Summary

Description

Traffic on London's Euston Road at Kings Cross comes to a standstill at lunch time on Sunday 5th July 2009.

The London air Ambulance lands at Kings Cross Underground station in support with the Fire and road Ambulance service attending an incident, to air lift a patient to Royal London Hospital.

Passengers travelling on a Picadilly line train heading towards Kings Cross were de-trained and walked back though the underground tunnel to Caledonian road station, where rail replacement buses waited for them.

Virgin MD902 Explorer twin engine helicopter registration G-EHMS with its distinctive red colour.

Based from their helipad on the roof of the Royal London Hospital, the aircraft is ready to respond within minutes to any accident or incident within the Capital, and operational area, to return back to the Hospital helipad with the patient, two pilots, a doctor & paramedic.
