![Scale diagram of Kronosaurus queenslandicus showing different size estimates. MCZ 1285 is the skeleton at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology, constructed in 1959.[1] At 12.8 meters, the size is considered to have been greatly overestimated. Around 1/3 of the skeleton is made of plaster and there are at least seven too many dorsal vertebrae. A more recent size estimate by Kear (2003) puts K. queenslandicus at around 9 meters in length.[2] Red outline based on MCZ 1285 at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology. Green outline based on size estimate in "Cretaceous marine reptiles of Australia: a review of taxonomy and distribution" by Benjamin P. Kear.
