Scene immediately after crowning by Archibishop of Canterbury Stigand (d.1072) of King Harold, contrary to the latter's oath given at Bayeux to William Duke of Normandy to be his vassal. (see earlier scene of Harold's oath depicted on Bayeux Tapestry)
