Summary

DescriptionJet engine types.png	A schematic showing several types of jet engines. Note that the first engine is the only one that only uses jet propulsion; the other ones also transmit some of the generated power from the combustion for use with other propulsion devices (ie propeller, fan, rotor, ...). A turbojet develops a propulsionary force simply because of the thrust beam. Turbofans add a fan to this, making them more efficient. Turboprops are quite similar to turbofans, yet use a propeller and a mechanical transfer system. Maximum speed is 800km/h. Propfans have propellers with bent blades, hereby being able to generate a speed up to 1000 km/h.
