![Erythronium multiscapideum 'Cliftonii'—Clifton's Fawn Lily. The label at Regional Parks Botanic Garden reads "Erythonium 'Cliftonii' INED", which means that the name is taxonomically illegitimate. The plants are probably best considered as a naturally occurring form of Erythronium multiscapideum to be found in cliffs at the northeastern edge of the Sacramento Valley. It is available in the trade, both in the United States and abroad, as "Erythronium cliftonii". Confused? so is everybody else.
