I use WIKI 2 every day and almost forgot how the original Wikipedia looks like.

Summary

Description
Contemporary map of the entire Internet in semi-production phase (many hosts attached to the ARPANET were still using NCP at this point) in February 1982. The ovals are sites/networks (some sites included more than one physical network), the rectangles are individual routers. No individual hosts are shown. Drawn by Jon Postel of the Information Sciences Institute, under a DARPA research contract as part of Internet development.

Additional info by the uploader: proper conversion, looks totally same (pixel perfect) including arrangement as (before) the original *.jpg, yet with one tenth of its file size, in contrast to the *.svg which is in its current state needs much improvement which i can't do.
Also, dont get fooled by the apparent blurriness of the preview, click to check in full size - it is ok - , it's because of the poorer (or different from the one used on jpg-s) mediawiki-engine scaling algorithm on png-s.
