From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Summary

Description
Light curves (plots of the intensity of emission [in what units?] as a function of time) of 12 bright gamma-ray bursts detected by BATSE, a NASA mission aboard the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory. Gamma-ray bursts light curves display a tremendous amount of diversity and few discernable patterns. This sample includes short events and long events (duration ranging from milliseconds to minutes), events with smooth behavior and single peaks, and events with highly variable, erratic behavior with many peaks. Created with data from the public BATSE archive (http://gammaray.msfc.nasa.gov/batse/grb/catalog/).

This graph image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “GRB BATSE 12lightcurves.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
