Summary

Description
Falcondale Mansion Hotel. This grand Italianate mansion stands in the south of the grid-square and was built in the 1850s by John Battersby Harford. It was converted into an hotel in 1980. The 20,000 acre Falcondale Estate which fills most of this grid-square was created in the 1820s by John Battersby Harford's Father and Uncle. The latter of the two, John Scandrett Harford, donated the land for Lampeter University to be built upon, and remained a benefactor of the college for many years.
