Summary

Description
In Detroit, Miki photographed the Smith family, the average worker working in an automobile factory, which was the main American industry at the time. It was titled "Factory Hand at Ford ". "The photo essay of Jun Miki, who visited the United States for the first time, often shows the reaction of foreigners to the lives of American factory workers," the international edition of "LIFE", December 13, 1954. The life of an American who has a common sense of cars, washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, televisions, and telephones was a dream story for Japanese people who are busy with their daily lives. The prosperity of America, a "rich country," was dazzling in Miki's eyes.
