A food price index published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, for 1961–2021. The FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) is a measure of the international prices of a basket of food commodities, published monthly. It consists of the weighted average of five commodity group price indices. The commodity groups are Cereal, Vegetable Oil, Dairy, Meat, and Sugar. The Real Price Index is the Nominal Price Index deflated by the World Bank Manufactures Unit Value Index (MUV). The price index is set to 100 for the average prices of the years 2014–2016. Data source: https://www.fao.org/worldfoodsituation/foodpricesindex/en/
This graph was created from the raw Food Price Index data available on https://www.fao.org/worldfoodsituation/foodpricesindex/en/. I needed to create my own graph instead of using the graph on the web page because the FAO Open Access Policy says the default copyright license is "Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 IGO)", but Wikimedia policy says that "NC" (NonCommercial) is not acceptable.
