Description
A U.S. Navy McDonnell F-4J-39-MC Phantom II (BuNo 155894) from Fighter Squadron 142 (VF-142) "Ghostriders" on the catapult of the aircraft carrier USS America (CVA-66), in 1974. VF-142 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 8 (CVW-8) aboard the America for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 3 January to 3 August 1974.
The F-4J 155894 was retired on 2 March 1983 and sold to the Royal Air Force on 26 November 1984, s/n ZE364.
