Description An ordnanceman of U.S. Marine Corps fighter-bomber squadron VMFA-451 Warlords checks an AIM-9L Sidewinder air-to-air missile on the wing of a McDonnell Douglas F/A-18A Hornet aircraft prior to its launch from the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CV-43) in 1989. VMFA-451 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 13 (CVW-13) for Coral Sea’s last deployment from 31 May to 30 September 1989 to the Mediterranean Sea.
