Radar view of the eye of typhoon "Marge." The bright lines are a reflection of radar waves upon rain droplets. The eye itself being relatively free of rain is identified by a minimum return of radar energy with the spiral bands of convective cloudiness winding about the eye like a spiral nebula. |
