Composición formada por un campo de gules con bordura en sinople, donde porta un manojo de cinco saetas color plata con las plumas altas y los hierros bajos, atadas todas con cinta de oro; todo debe estar antes de la orla, sombreada de color oro antiguo, en la cual debe ir a color sable en la parte superior del escudo, en letra mayúscula, el monte "CIUDAD HISTÓRICA". Fuera del contexto del arte del escudo lleva la leyenda "Real Escudo de Armas de San Sebastián de Mariquita".
