(According to Appleton's illustrated hand-book of American travel] (1860), a "Dr. Hutton" led a Dutch Reformed congregation on "Washington Square". This church was built in 1837, per History of the city of New York: its origin, rise and progress, Volume 3 (1896), and Dr. Manolus S. Hutton retired from it c.1897, per "A Mysterious Burglary" New York Times (August 20, 1879).)
