![These fragments were part of a stela that was found at the Rows of Stelae in the city of Assur, Iraq. It depicts a woman wearing a crown in the shape of a crenelated city wall. This is queen Ashur-Sharrat (or Libbali-sharrat), wife of the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal. It is rare to see an Assyrian queen without her husband. The queen raises her hand in salutation. Limestone, from Assur, northern Mesopotamia, Iraq. 7th century BCE.
