File:Dancing-Dress-1809.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Original file(440 × 907 pixels, file size: 97 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Summary

Description High-waisted dancing dress from 1809, with a slit overskirt -- rather modern-looking in some respects (in a way that most Victorian or eighteenth-century fashions could never be). The woman seems to be wearing hoop earrings which were relatively large by the standards of the time.
