Object history
Deutsch: Der blaue Wellenbalken, ein heraldisches Gewässersymbol, weist auf den namengebenden Wielenbach und auf die im Gemeindegebiet fließende Ammer hin. Der Schlüssel, Attribut des heiligen Petrus, ist die Minderung des Wessobrunner Klosterwappens und erinnert daran, dass das Kloster die Patronatsrechte über die Pfarrkirche in Wielenbach innehatte. Sowohl die ehemalige Klosterkirche von Wessobrunn als auch die Kirche und eine Kapelle in Wielenbach haben ein Peterspatrozinium. Der gestümmelte Ast ist ein Attribut des heiligen Gallus, dem die Kirche in Haunshofen geweiht ist. Damit wird auch die bis 1978 selbstständige Gemeinde Haunshofen im Gemeindewappen repräsentiert. Der Eberrumpf stammt aus dem Wappen der Herren von Wilzhofen (Wittelshofen), die im Mittelalter als Ortsadel im gleichnamigen Gemeindeteil eine Rolle spielten.
