Deutsch: Das Gemeindewappen weist auf zwei für die Ortsgeschichte wichtige Adelsfamilien hin: Die drei oben gezinnten Balken in Silber stammen aus dem Wappen der Marschälle von Oberndorf, einem angesehen Adelsgeschlecht, das sich nach dem Ort benannte und bereits früh nachweisbar ist. Als ältester Vertreter ist ein Marchward von Oberndorf bekannt, der 1127 erwähnt wird und später als bischöflicher Ministeriale auftaucht. Seit 1150 waren die Oberndorfer Ministerialen Marschälle der Bischöfe von Augsburg, seit 1386 hatten sie auch das Truchsessenamt inne. Bis ins 15. Jahrhundert war Oberndorf im Besitz dieser Adelsfamilie. 1533 verkaufte Wolf von Donnersberg, Erbmarschall des Hochstifts Augsburg, das Schloss und die Herrschaft Oberndorf mit allem Zubehör an die Fugger. Daran erinnert die goldene Lilie aus dem Stammwappen der Fugger.
