Deutsch: Das Wappen vereint die Wappen zweier Klöster, die in der Geschichte des heutigen Gemeindegebiets von großer Bedeutung waren. Der von Silber und Rot geschachte Schrägbalken, der so genannte Zisterzienserbalken, wurde aus dem Wappen des Zisterzienserabtei Raitenhaslach übernommen, der die Pfarrei Niederbergkirchen seit 1246 inkorporiert war. Die 1978 nach Niederbergkirchen eingemeindete Gemeinde Oberhofen war Aufenthaltsort kranker Konventualen des Klosters. Das Kloster Raitenhaslach war bis zur Säkularisation 1803 auch die bedeutendste Grundherrschaft in der Gegend von Niederbergkirchen und Oberhofen. Die zwei Reihen Wolkenfeh sind die geminderte Form des Wappens der Augustinerpropstei Au am Inn, die im 13. und 14. Jahrhundert Güter und Rechte im Gemeindegebiet innehatte.
