Deutsch: Die Zeichnung auf dem Tuch der Standarte orientiert sich am Stammwappen der Herren von Maxlrain, die einen dreimal wellenförmig von Silber und Schwarz schräglinks geteilten Schild führten. Die Maxlrainer übernahmen nach dem Aussterben der Waldecker 1483 die Reichsgrafschaft Hohenwaldeck mit ihrem Hauptort Miesbach. Die Farben der Maxlrainer waren jedoch Silber und Schwarz. Durch die Tingierung der Fahne in den bayerischen Landesfarben Silber und Blau wird darauf hingewiesen, dass Miesbach mit Hohenwaldeck nach dem Aussterben der Maxlrainer 1734 an die Wittelsbacher fiel. Miesbach hatte zwar nachweislich schon 1367 Marktstatus, besaß aber vor der Wappenverleihung durch den bayerischen König 1812 kein eigenes Wappen. In den Siegeln des 19. Jahrhunderts finden sich häufig unrichtige Wiedergaben des Fahnentuchs und die Hinzufügung eines meist grünen Dreibergs. Erst 1928 erhielten Wappen und Dienstsiegel wieder die heraldisch richtigen Details wie sie Hupp dargestellt hat. 1918 wurde Miesbach noch durch König Ludwig III. zur Stadt erhoben.
