Deutsch: Große Bedeutung für das Gebiet des Landkreises Forchheim hatte das Hochstift Bamberg, das durch den Bamberger Löwen im Wappen vertreten ist. Die Schlüssel reden für das edelfreie Geschlecht der Schlüsselberger, die umfangreichen Besitz im Kreisgebiet hatten. An die Zugehörigkeit der früher kreisfreien Stadt Forchheim zum Landkreis erinnert der Fisch aus dem Stadtwappen.
