Couch Tomb, Lincoln Park, Chicago, Illinois. Built: 1858. Architect: Van Osdel and Baumann. The tomb was built by Ira Couch (1806–1857) and his brother James Couch (1800–1892), hoteliers in Chicago. The tomb was designed by John M. Van Osdel (1811–1891), the first professional architect in Chicago. The mausoleum was located in the Chicago City Cemetery, and the only that remaind after the removal of the cemetery to create Lincoln Park.
