Description
The Colorado County, Texas courthouse is a classical revival building erected in 1890-1891 in the form of a Greek cross. Designed by prominent Texas architect Eugene T. Heiner, the courthouse reflects the style of the period with its combination of French Second Empire, Renaissance Revival, and Italianate influences. The roof and tower of the courthouse were destroyed in a storm in 1909 and were replaced with the classical detailing and a center dome. The courthouse is located in Columbus, Texas, United States. The structure was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1969 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 12, 1976.
